Forum Closure end of January

Hi guys,

Due to lack of response with this forum, I regret to say I will have to close it due to lack off interest from the locals. I cannot keep up with the SPAM and it is taking way too much time without help from other members and there have not been many off them asking to become moderators.

There maybe still hope, the Russian SPAMMERS seem to have taken up business elsewhere for the time being.

They are the worst, because it is usually graphic porn.

Anyway we will see what happens.

The photo gallery will stay open though in any case Pete, as I have total control over that and can monitor photos before they are published.

I hope this forum does continue. Unlike other local online rags it does not appear to be dominated by a couple of persons. I will make more effort to read and contribute, good luck.

Just moved to the Island and found the forum, hope it stays!

Hi,

This forum will continue to operate. Now that we have members of the community helping to control the SPAM, it is ok.

It would be great though if people living on Bribie Island would participate a lot more.

We continue to add features to the site, which rarely get used.

We have a classifieds, Employment, Business Directory, Photo Gallery and Forum, all of which do not really get the support from the community that was expected.

Hopefully the support will increase over time and people living on Bribie Island will get behind the site and contribute a lot more.

Shane - I did not know this Forum existed, I am a newcomer to Bribie and have been reading the local papers looking for information about the Island and have never seen this site mentioned, maybe a story in the local papers would help to get more members?
