Hello, my name is Petra and we are going ot move to Australia in August/September 2008. We'd (42, 45 and 13 years old) love to settle down on Bribie Island. Hi Petra.
Mobile coverage isn't any problem. Bribie is just a few hundred meters off the mainland and is fairly populated.
You'll love the place. Nature, animals, beaches etc and still very close to Brisbane. It does have a bit of small town feel but once you get into the rut, that is perfect.

Work opportunities can be a bit limited on the island and there are quite a lot of tradesmen around. Shouldn't be any problem for your hubby if he looks just a little bit further away (i.e. companies in Cabolture, Redcliffe or Brisbane's northen suburbs.)
For Marketing Assistant positions....no idea. But check out job search web sites like seek.com.au for a feel.


Like I mentioned to Michaela. Let us know if you find a good German deli or similar around there. I love the german sausages and have not yet found any place around there that sells them. (Note, I don't live on Bribie but have a place there for holdays.)
